Ingredients
8 medium ripe pears, peeled and thinly sliced1/4 cup orange juice1/2 cup sugar1 teaspoon ground cinnamon1/4 teaspoon ground allspice1/4 teaspoon ground gingerTOPPING:1 cup all-purpose flour1 cup old-fashioned oats1/2 cup packed brown sugar1/2 teaspoon baking powder1/2 cup cold butter, cubedFresh mint leaves, optional
Preparation
Preheat oven to 350°. Toss pears with orange juice; place in a greased 13x9-in. baking dish. Combine the sugar, cinnamon, allspice and ginger; sprinkle over pears.
For topping, in a small bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar and baking powder; cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over pears.
Bake until topping is golden brown and fruit is tender, 35-40 minutes. Serve warm. If desired, garnish with mint.
