Ingredients
3 bacon strips, diced1 medium onion, chopped1 medium apple, peeled and chopped1 small head red cabbage, chopped1 cup water1/4 cup white wine vinegar1 tablespoon sugar1/2 teaspoon salt
Preparation
In a large saucepan, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp. Using a slotted spoon, remove to paper towels to drain.
In the drippings, saute onion and apple until tender. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 30 minutes or until tender. Stir in reserved bacon.
