Ingredients
1 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. golden corn syrup
1/4 c. butter or margarine
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
5 c. popped low-fat microwave popcorn
1 c. honey dry-roasted peanuts or other nuts
1 1/2 c. Kellogg’s * Rice Krispies * Vanilla Flavour cereal, finely crushed to 175 mL
Preparation
Step 1Combine sugar, corn syrup, butter, and salt in large saucepan or Dutch oven. Bring to boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Cook 4 minutes, stirring frequently.Step 2Remove from heat; stir in baking soda.Step 3Stir in popcorn and peanuts. Work quickly to coat well.Step 4Immediately sprinkle crushed cereal over mixture. Work quickly to coat well.Step 5Spread, using rubber spatula or 2 forks, on baking sheet lined with foil or parchment paper. Let cool. Break into chunks. Store in heavy plastic bag or covered container.
